Job Overview

Adecco is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our team at Catalent Pharma Solutions in Manassas, VA. As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in analyzing and managing costs to ensure the company's financial health and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cost estimates for new products or potential changes to existing products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Analyze discrepancies in manufactured product costs, identifying and resolving issues related to manufacturing variances, routings, and bills of materials.
  • Collaborate with production teams to correct discrepancies and maintain accurate work orders.
  • Ensure the integrity of standard costs and item attributes that impact costing or standard accounting flows.
  • Analyze cost of sales and manufacturing variances, providing insights to inform business decisions.
  • Prepare monthly Yield, PPV, Reject, and KP Reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Assist in the annual budget process, working closely with sales and finance teams to develop and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting.
  • Perform other monthly and quarterly financial reports as necessary, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Confirm month-end subledger balances with the General Ledger and on-hand balances, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor damaged/rejected inventories and facilitate the paperwork approval, tracking, and filing process.
  • Monitor aging inventories for obsolescence, reviewing and recording appropriate reserves.
  • Assist Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable with inventory-related transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Analyze shipped/invoiced inventory for COGS and CM accuracy, providing insights to inform business decisions.
  • Assist with R&D and new item setup process, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Participate in corporate and site initiatives, contributing to the company's overall success.
  • Work on special projects as directed by Management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Maintain and update all required schedules and spreadsheets in Excel, ensuring accurate and timely month-end Close.
  • Assist with any Quality audit items, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
