Position Overview

The Computed Tomography Technologist is responsible for conducting advanced imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images are produced for medical evaluation.

Certification Requirements
  • ARRT (CT) certification is mandatory within the first year of employment.
  • BLS Certification is required within three months of employment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute CT imaging procedures and related techniques to generate sectional and three-dimensional images.
  • Assist in interventional and therapeutic imaging procedures.
  • Perform intricate CT examinations with precision.
  • Utilize professional judgment to assess and obtain patients' clinical histories pertinent to imaging procedures.
  • Prepare and review contrast questionnaires for accuracy with patients.
  • Administer contrast media as necessary for CT examinations.
  • Verify insurance authorization for imaging scripts.
  • Collect external studies for Radiologist comparison.
  • Provide copies of imaging results to patients and referring physicians.
  • Evaluate radiographs using the PACS system for diagnostic purposes.
  • Gather relevant information from medical records to ensure patient safety and readiness for scanning.
  • Determine the appropriate preparation required for patients prior to procedures.
  • Prepare patients for imaging with the necessary equipment and safety protocols.
  • Decide on the type and dosage of contrast media for administration.
  • Deliver clear explanations and instructions to patients regarding procedures.
  • Conduct venipuncture and monitor patients' physical conditions during imaging.
  • Adhere to established policies regarding identification, behavior standards, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Meet physical requirements for lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing as necessary.
Job Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning.
  • Familiarity with CT imaging software and hardware.
  • Thorough understanding of the PACS system.
  • Maintain continuing education credits as required.
  • Team members are expected to achieve ARRT (CT) certification within the designated timeframe.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required within three months of hire.
Work Schedule
  • Responsible for adhering to scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Overtime may be necessary to ensure quality patient care.
  • On-call duties may be assigned as per departmental policies.
Additional Information
  • Previous experience in CT imaging is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Epic and any HIS/RIS systems is advantageous.
  • ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license is preferred.
