Position Overview

The CT Imaging Specialist is responsible for performing computer tomography procedures and related techniques, generating both sectional and three-dimensional images for diagnostic interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Certification Requirements: Must obtain ARRT (CT) certification within twelve months of employment and BLS Certification within three months.
  • Procedure Execution: Conducts complex CT procedures and assists with interventional and therapeutic processes.
  • Patient Interaction: Utilizes professional judgment to review and obtain patients' clinical histories, ensuring accurate preparation for scanning.
  • Contrast Administration: Prepares, screens, and verifies the accuracy of contrast questionnaires, identifying and administering contrast media as necessary.
  • Insurance Verification: Responsible for confirming insurance authorization for exams.
  • Data Management: Obtains external studies for comparison and provides exam copies to patients and physicians.
  • Image Evaluation: Analyzes radiographs using the PACS system for diagnostic purposes.
  • Patient Safety: Gathers pertinent information from medical records and healthcare providers to ensure patient safety during procedures.
  • Preparation and Monitoring: Determines appropriate patient preparation, administers contrast, and monitors patients' physical conditions throughout the scanning process.
  • Compliance: Adheres to organizational policies regarding identification, behavior standards, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Physical Requirements: Must meet physical demands including lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning.
  • Familiarity with CT software and hardware.
  • Thorough understanding of the PACS system.
  • Commitment to maintaining CEU credits.
  • Team members are expected to achieve ARRT (CT) certification within twelve months of hire.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required within three months.
Work Schedule
  • Must be available for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Overtime may be required to ensure continuous quality patient care.
  • On-call assignments may be necessary as per departmental policy.
Additional Information
  • Previous CT experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Epic and any HIS/RIS systems is advantageous.
  • ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license is preferred.
