Talent4Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatric Physician to provide locum tenens coverage at Eastern State Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to the hospital's mission.
Responsibilities- Provide medical care to adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatients, including examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of medical illnesses.
- Serve as a medical consultant to attending psychiatrists and practitioners.
- Complete admission medical assessments, including history and physical examinations, mental status examinations, and entering admission orders.
- Order diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures, monitor patients' progress, and consult with authorized representatives and legal guardians as needed.
- Collaborate with attending psychiatric practitioners to provide DSM-5 diagnoses, valid, complete, and supported by timely and appropriate assessments.
- Prescribe medications at the lowest effective dose, assess and address medication side effects, and report adverse drug reactions.
- Ensure timely and quality documentation in patient records, adhering to policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and guidelines.
- 3+ years of experience as a Physician/Practitioner.
- Strong experience working with patients having Serious Mental Illness (SMI).
- Prior experience in psychiatric crisis management and forensic experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
