Position Overview:


Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) are qualified healthcare practitioners who deliver patient care and provide technical and supportive services under general oversight in a clinical or medical office environment.

The LVN aligns with the organizational philosophy and adheres to the established protocols, policies, and procedures of the designated Medical Office Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and relevant state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Execute patient care tasks as directed by physicians or healthcare professionals, following established protocols and within the scope of their education and training.
  • Assist medical staff with specialized procedures, minor surgical interventions, and diagnostic assessments.
  • Evaluate and monitor patients' health status and communicate findings to the physician or healthcare professional for further action.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the physician, adhering to established protocols.
  • Maintain medical equipment and supplies, identifying and coordinating repairs as necessary. Implement aseptic techniques and infection control measures as outlined in the Infection Control Manual.
  • Oversee patient flow and direct ancillary personnel as required.
  • Provide patients with medical information and education, following established guidelines.
  • Accurately document relevant patient information, assessments, and nursing interventions, maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:

  • Valid Vocational Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) at Level II is required
Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in computer and typing skills is preferred
Additional Notes:

  • Candidates must have successfully completed or currently be active in the bilingual testing program.
  • This role may require flexibility to work across various departments.
  • Responsibilities may extend to multiple locations.
  • Work schedules will be determined based on operational requirements.
