Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process, overseeing other assigned team members and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide population-specific care in accordance with BORN regulations and professional standards of care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process
  • Oversee other assigned team members and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Provide population-specific care in accordance with BORN regulations and professional standards of care
Requirements
  • Current MA RN license required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years nursing experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and conflict management skills required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor degree in nursing preferred
  • CPR Training required within first 3 months of employment; ACLS, PALS, and CPI required within first year of employment
Work Environment

The RN works in a variety of patient care environments where there may be exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials. Caring for patients also involves exposure to human waste and other unpleasant elements. Other duties may include general cleaning with exposure to dirt, odors, cramped quarters, etc.

  • Constantly: 75% or more of the worker's time is spent in the activity
  • Frequently: 25% to 75% or more of the worker's time is spent in this activity
  • Occasionally: 5% to 25% or more of the worker's time is spent in this activity
  • Rarely: under 5% or more of the worker's time is spent in the activity
