Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Serve as the single point of contact for customers, providing prompt and professional assistance with their banking needs.
  • Sales and Relationship Management: Identify and match customer product needs with First United Bank products and services, promoting new products and services to customers and employees.
  • Account Management: Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, safe deposit boxes, and other ancillary products offered by the bank, ensuring that proper paperwork is completed and entered on the computer system.
  • Transaction Processing: Process a variety of transactions quickly with minimal or no errors, including accepting checks for cash and deposit, money orders, savings bonds, traveler's checks, cashier's checks, and accepting and processing payments for loans and other services.
  • Security and Compliance: Maintain branch cash supply and appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications and vault duties, and ensure overall safety and security of bank grounds.
  • Problem Resolution: Proactively resolve customer complaints, problems, or other issues, and review and resolve account issues listed in insufficient and exception reports on a daily basis.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma strongly preferred, some college is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of banking experience as a Teller, Lending Assistant, or New Accounts is required.
  • Cash Handling Experience: Cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Customer Service Skills: Superior customer service skills required.
  • Mathematics: Basic mathematics to solve problems.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively read, write, and verbally communicate with customers and co-workers.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and work independently, without close supervisor.
  • Judgment and Decision-Making: Ability to use good judgment and exercise decision-making skills.
  • Critical Thinking: Critical thinking skills to identify solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task.
  • Professional Attitude and Appearance: Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ethics: Behave ethically while at work or outside your work environment.
