Key Responsibilities- Classroom Assistance: Provide instructional support to teachers, including preparing materials, correcting student work, and monitoring student progress.
- Supervision: Supervise students in various settings, including lunchrooms, playgrounds, and bus loading/unloading areas.
- Special Needs Support: Work with students with special needs, including those with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Individual Health Plans (IHPs), and 504 disability accommodation plans.
- Activities of Daily Living: Assist students with their dietary needs, including feeding, and escort them to restrooms and assist with toileting and hygiene needs.
- Office Functions: Perform clerical and secretarial duties, including word processing, data entry, and bookkeeping.
- Media Assistance: Assist licensed media staff and instructional staff with tasks in library functions, including checking out materials and assisting with inventories.
- Experience: Previous experience working with students, preferably in an educational setting.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively, and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge: Basic use of a personal computer and ability to learn new software and systems.
- Licenses and Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; professional certification, such as Child Development Associate (CDA), may be preferred.
