Job Title: Senior Management Analyst

Join the City of Santee, CA team as a Senior Management Analyst and contribute to the success of our organization.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Management Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Management Analyst, you will be responsible for performing a broad range of complex administrative, analytical, and technical duties. Your primary focus will be on supporting the Planning/Building Department and the Engineering Department, with the possibility of underfilling with a Management Analyst.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and analyze data to inform decision-making
  • Assist in the development of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the organizational function
  • Make recommendations on the formulation of policy and procedures, staffing, and organizational requirements
  • Supervise surveys and perform research and statistical and financial analyses on complex administrative, fiscal, personnel, and operational issues
  • Develop recommendations for solutions to administrative, management, and operational problems
  • Coordinate and implement the installation of new and revised programs, systems, procedures, and methods of operation
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor the departmental budget
  • Coordinate the research, development, review, and preparation of grant applications and monitor existing programs for compliance with regulations
  • Coordinate, review, process, and maintain records on departmental personnel transactions
  • Administer agreements with outside consultants or contractors
  • Consult with City personnel, consultants, and governmental agencies to obtain or impart information
  • Participate in the coordination of activities with other City departments and divisions and with outside agencies
  • Write research reports containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content, including the preparation of conclusions and forecasts based on data summaries and other findings
  • Represent the City in interdepartmental, community, and professional meetings as required
  • Prepare City Council agenda statements, ordinances, resolutions, and agreements
  • Make or assist in oral presentations relative to assigned duties
  • Supervise administrative, technical, and/or clerical staff
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible and recent complex administrative, analytical, and technical experience in the public sector
