About the Role:

As a technician on the buried drop team at Windstream, you will be responsible for the physical installation of underground copper, fiber, and coaxial cables, connecting the network hub directly to customer residences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the physical installation of buried copper, fiber, and coaxial drop cables to establish connections between Windstream's network and customer homes.
  • Utilize your technical skills and customer service focus to foster meaningful relationships with clients.
  • Interpret work diagrams and instructions while completing necessary documentation.
  • Promote and sell Windstream's products and services.
  • Train new team members on daily operational tasks.
  • Employ handheld devices for job task management.
  • Operate machinery, including trenching and boring equipment, for cable installation.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • The capability to walk long distances while operating equipment.
  • Basic technology and mathematical skills.
  • The ability to lift and carry weights up to 70 pounds.
  • Successful completion of required training, including potential overnight travel.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves various physical tasks, including:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Climbing, bending, and crouching frequently.
  • Operating vehicles and machinery regularly.
