Job Summary

Scotland Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Cleaning and Maintenance Professional to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, discharge rooms, common areas, hospital operational rooms, and other spaces inside the hospital.
  • Vacuum and perform other procedural cleanings, as well as maintain and care for floor cleaning equipment.
  • Responsible for total floor care, including washing, sealing, waxing, and buffing all floors at the nursing facility.
  • Provide floor maintenance, including vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery.
  • Assist with window cleaning and use a Tucker pole as needed.
  • Maintain considerable knowledge of the operation, use, and care of floor scrubbers, side-by-side burnishers, vacuum chariots, extractors, and pressure washers.
  • Bend, stoop, reach high and low, and lift up to 75 pounds while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Notify supervisor of need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  • Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
  • Apply all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Attend training programs as designated.
