Position Overview

The University of New Mexico's School of Medicine is actively seeking qualified individuals for the role of Adjunct Faculty within the Emergency Medical Services Academy. This position encompasses various responsibilities aimed at enhancing the educational experience of students in the EMS field.

Roles and Responsibilities

As an Adjunct Faculty Member, you will engage in several key functions:
  • National Registry Evaluators or EMS Proctors: Facilitate and instruct the EMS Academy's designated curriculum in laboratory, clinical, or classroom environments under the guidance of the course Instructor Coordinator or Exam Coordinator. Your role will include delivering lectures, conducting assessments, overseeing laboratory sessions, and providing clinical instruction, all while adhering to established EMS Academy and university standards.
  • EMS Instructors: Assume the role of primary instructor for assigned courses, responsible for course preparation, evaluation, student mentorship, and supervising proctors. This position requires compliance with EMS Academy and university educational standards.
  • Adjunct Lecturers: Lead and deliver course content as the primary faculty member, focusing on curriculum development, student assessment, and educational support for your assigned cohort.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Relevant experience related to the position


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current New Mexico Paramedic License
  • National Registry Paramedic Certification
  • Related experience in EMS or medical fields
  • UNM EMS Academy I/C credential and affiliation
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree
