As an AmeriCorps program, we unite passionate individuals to address critical challenges in education through national service. Our coaches are committed to social justice and play a vital role in bridging the college equity gap.

Role Responsibilities

The College Success Mentor position is centered around providing guidance and support to undergraduate students striving to complete their degrees. Mentors will engage with students through various communication methods, including in-person meetings and virtual platforms. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monthly outreach to assigned students via phone, email, or text, conducting one-on-one coaching sessions to address individual needs.
  • Assisting students with essential processes such as course registration, financial aid applications, and career development.
  • Creating personalized action plans for students facing significant challenges, including financial aid issues or academic difficulties.
  • Collaborating with university staff to enhance student support services.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and program statistics, generating reports as required.
  • Completing necessary documentation, including timesheets and self-evaluations.
  • Participating in training sessions and community service events.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of a National Service Criminal History Check and compliance with health and security requirements.
