- Collaborate with the CSE or CPSE to ensure IEP recommendations are implemented and each service provider is aware of their responsibilities.
- Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to support students with challenging behaviors.
- Train staff on DDI's policy on challenging behaviors and provide ongoing support to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide individual or group parent education and clinical case assessment and review to support families and students.
- Master's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- NYS certification in Special Education or a related area.
- Expertise in instruction, curriculum, and positive behavior supports for individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities.
- Skills in Applied Behavior Analysis and/or coursework towards the Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to modify the environment to ensure the safety of children.
- Ability to move/transport a child weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of 3 feet to place the child on a changing table.
- Ability to move quickly after a child up to 200 feet to prevent elopement.
- Ability to position oneself or maneuver the classroom to facilitate student instruction in the classroom and playground environment.
