Job Title: Ophthalmology Physician

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a talented Ophthalmology Physician to join its multi-specialty practice in Long Island. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a renowned team of healthcare professionals and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Ophthalmology Physician to join our team in Huntington, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for outpatient medicine and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and contribute to the development of innovative treatment plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases and conditions
  • Perform necessary surgical procedures, including examinations before and after surgery, and instruct patients on self-care to improve recovery
  • Provide health education and counseling, and establish preventive health practices
  • Initiate laboratory, radiology, and pathology exams, and specialty consults as necessary
  • Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care and consult with and refer to appropriate specialists in regards to high-risk or complex patients
  • Foster a professional, collaborative work environment with all team members and colleagues
  • Participate in Quality Improvement (CQI) programs and clinical projects for practice improvement when requested
  • Provide case management with other healthcare team members
Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree from an accredited university
  • Ability to obtain a New York license
  • Board Certification or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
  • Active DEA license and BLS and ACLS certification
  • Demonstrated professional competence and integrity, and ethical conduct of practice
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, bedside manner, and organizational skills
  • Patient-focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients
  • A strong work ethic and desire to participate in team-oriented, performance-driven healthcare
  • Strong computer skills and EMR knowledge
Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $300,000 to $400,000, excluding bonuses, incentive compensation, and benefits.
