Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative at Long Beach Transit. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, assisting with transit trip planning, and representing our agency at community events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to our customers, responding to their inquiries and resolving their concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist customers with transit trip planning, providing information on routes, schedules, fares, and ridership-related policies and procedures.
  • Represent Long Beach Transit at community events, promoting our services and engaging with the public.
  • Staff the front reception desk at our administrative office, greeting visitors, directing them as needed, and answering phones.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including cash handling and lost and found systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including transporting and delivering mail/packages to multiple locations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of experience in customer service or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as required, and to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and other computer software, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
  • Class C driver's license preferred, with a valid DMV driving record.
What We Offer

Long Beach Transit offers a competitive salary range of $43,172.48 to $55,706.42 per year, depending on experience, as well as excellent fringe benefits. Successful candidates must pass a physical, drug, and alcohol examination, as well as a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
