Senior Underwriter, Primary and Excess Casualty

The Senior Underwriter plays a critical role in making analytical, data-driven decisions to underwrite business, including pricing risk. This position requires a strong market presence, established relationships with agents and brokers, and the ability to develop and underwrite profitable business.
Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of wholesale brokers/agents and clients
- Leverage market presence and knowledge to develop and underwrite profitable business
- Maintain a strong market presence, including established relationships with agents and brokers
- Contribute ideas for product development and participate in development and execution
- Collaborate effectively across teams, stakeholders, and partners
- Mentor junior underwriters and new hires
- Degree in Business or equivalent
- Minimum of 2.5 years of progressive underwriting experience in E&S Primary Casualty and Excess Casualty
- CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred
- Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks
