KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Additional duties may be assigned)

  • Examine workpiece surfaces for any flaws
  • Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, and stripping old paint using both manual and power tools
  • Select appropriate abrasive wheels based on specifications and the condition of the metal
  • Operate grinding machinery to remove imperfections from workpiece surfaces
  • Polish ground areas to achieve a flawless finish
  • Replace worn-out abrasive discs as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • Less than high school education or up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in taping and masking is preferred
  • Familiarity with paint mixing and application systems is preferred but not mandatory
