Project Manager Job Description

Vector Consulting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a hybrid 12+ months renewable contract role in Raleigh, NC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing multiple stakeholders and vendors to deliver a successful Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) upgrade project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and monitoring expenditures.
  • Manage scope, resources, timelines, costs/budget, quality, communication, and procurements to meet the goals of the State.
  • Lead and perform hands-on analysis of the business and technical environments, and write procurement documents.
  • Work with vendors to manage contract deliverables, oversee all vendor activities to ensure that all milestones are met.
  • Establish project governance, conduct formal presentations, coordinate with all project stakeholders, and ensure that appropriate project controls are instituted.
  • Serve as an IT project liaison to the business client.
  • Work with business stakeholders to develop necessary project management, change management, risk management, rollout, and training plans.
  • Work with the technical team to ensure technical readiness during implementation and supervise implementation activities.
Qualifications:
  • 8 years of Project management experience, preferably with large, complex automation implementation efforts.
  • 8 years of Demonstrated Project Management experience on system deployments with multiple clients.
  • 8 years of Proven track record of delivering projects and work streams with aggressive timelines and deliver within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • 8 years of Objective decision-making ability based on strategic objectives priority, business performance analysis, and resource availability.
  • 7 years of Hands-on experience managing project risk, cost, schedule, quality, testing, and communications.
  • 3 years of Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • 3 years of Demonstrated oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • 7 years of Solid work experience with project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project).
  • 7 years of Experience with MS Office and SharePoint.
  • 5 years of Demonstrated experience with both Waterfall and Agile Projects.
  • 8 years of Demonstrated experience with vendor management on a large IT project/system implementation.
  • 8 years of Demonstrate technical architecture/infrastructure knowledge and experience, including experience with multiple hardware platforms and operating system.
  • 8 years of Demonstrate technical knowledge and analysis skills with hands-on experience in development, data base design, and web-based technologies.
