Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electric propulsion systems for our spacecraft, including thrusters, power systems, and control electronics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our electric propulsion systems meet the required performance, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate the performance of our electric propulsion systems.
  • Work closely with our manufacturing team to ensure that our electric propulsion systems are produced efficiently and reliably.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and component redesigns to improve the reliability and performance of our electric propulsion systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an aerospace, physics, mechanical, or electrical engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in electric propulsion systems design, development, and testing.
  • Strong understanding of vacuum chamber operations, thermodynamics, structural design, electromagnetism, plasma physics, and materials properties.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, and Matlab.
  • Ability to work in a highly cross-functional role and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in an aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering discipline.
  • Experience with electric propulsion system testing and validation.
  • Knowledge of spacecraft propulsion systems and their integration with other spacecraft systems.
