The Benefis Medical Group is in search of a Chief of Cardiology Services to oversee and manage all clinical operations within the Heart & Vascular Institute. This role entails a collaborative partnership with the Director of the Institute, sharing accountability for the overall performance, which includes clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, referral experience, growth metrics, cost efficiency, productivity, and financial outcomes.
Position Overview
- Opportunity to lead and engage in both Non-Invasive and Interventional Cardiology, including a structural heart program initiated in 2022.
- Access to a newly established hybrid cardiac catheterization lab, alongside comprehensive echo and nuclear laboratories.
- First facility in the nation equipped with a ceiling-mounted Artis Icono in the cath lab.
- Hospital-employed position within a well-established practice catering to a patient population of approximately 275,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with system leaders, including those from Benefis Medical Group, the hospital, medical staff, and Heart & Vascular Institute clinics.
- Act as a prominent and supportive leader within the Institute to facilitate the achievement of its objectives.
- Provide guidance to enhance the success of practitioners within the Institute while aligning with the overall goals of Benefis Health.
- Optimize clinic and provider performance metrics.
- Ensure alignment of the Institute's activities with the strategic plan of Benefis Health.
- Integrate performance improvement initiatives with medical staff peer review and hospital enhancement efforts as necessary.
- Lead the development of the Institute's infrastructure to meet its goals, including necessary committees, leadership, measurement, and reporting functions.
- Drive continuous improvement processes within the Institute to meet established objectives.
- Foster a strong and positive culture within the Institute that supports achieving desired outcomes.
- Guide the recruitment, development, and training of new leaders within the Institute, as well as succession planning for current leaders.
- Facilitate effective communication within the Institute and with other departments across Benefis Health.
- Provide robust leadership to prepare the Institute and its practitioners for evolving market and healthcare environment challenges.
Heart & Vascular Institute Team Composition
- 2 Cardiovascular Surgeons
- 2 Cardiothoracic Advanced Practice Providers (2 openings)
- 1 Interventional Cardiologist (currently covered by per diem)
- 1 per diem Structural Cardiologist (1 opening)
- 2 Non-Invasive Cardiologists (1 open position)
- 1 Independent Electrophysiology Interventional Cardiologist
- 1 Nurse Practitioner
