Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Northwest Special Recreation Association. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing programs for individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and develop activity programs for recreation, leisure, and therapeutic recreation programs.
• Demonstrate strong leadership qualities, including confidence, maturity, flexibility, and professionalism.
• Provide assistance and instruction to participants as needed.
• Work with the Manager of Special Recreation to evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field of study.
• Current National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification (CTRC) or ability to become certified within 6 months of being hired.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License and ability to attain an Illinois Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
