Job Summary

This Pharmacy Technician - Clinical and Operations Coordinator position is a key role in the Pharmacy Service at the Orlando VA Healthcare System. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing multiple programs across various areas of the pharmacy service, with a focus on program coordination and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage multiple programs under the delegation of Associate Chiefs or Chief of Pharmacy.
  • Organize, coordinate, and manage single or multiple programs under the delegation of pharmacy supervisors or Associate Chiefs.
  • Develop and implement plans to move clinics towards productivity goals and work with pharmacy supervisors to implement.
  • Maximize reimbursement for encounterable workload by analyzing daily reports and developing solutions to resolve issues.
  • Perform duties and special projects deemed necessary by the Chief of Pharmacy for the proper operation of the Pharmacy Service.
Requirements
  • One year of progressively complex experience equivalent to the lower grade level.
  • Pass a national certification exam and hold an active national certification through either PTCB as a CPhT or NHA as a ExCPT.
  • Expert knowledge serving as a key resource advising others in their particular specialty area or section of the pharmacy.
  • Skill in analyzing data for self-driven performance improvement projects, workload analysis, and statistical reports.
  • Skill in solving problems and implementing corrective actions to maximize outcomes in their program area.
  • Ability to maintain special accreditations and prepare for national reviews/inspections.
  • Ability to develop training programs and material for orientation, competency development, and educational needs for regulatory requirements within the specialized pharmacy program area.
Preferred Experience
  • Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) experience.
  • Experience managing/overseeing significant projects/programs that involve multiple services.
  • Experience with requesting, auditing, and adjusting pharmacy-specific grids, purchase cards.
Work Schedule

Rotating schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as determined by the respective section supervisor.

Telework

Ad-hoc, as determined by agency policy.
