Key Responsibilities:

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for:

  1. Preparing and organizing surgical rooms, instruments, equipment, and treatment trays for designated departments.
  2. Cleaning and decontaminating medical instruments, containers, and patient equipment using approved detergents and disinfectants in accordance with regulatory standards and internal protocols.
  3. Operating both semi-automatic and automatic sterilization machinery and washers.
  4. Managing inventory by ordering, replenishing, and distributing instruments, reusable medical equipment, and supplies for general and surgical use.
  5. Maintaining accurate inventory records and files.
  6. Ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control regulations.
  7. Participating in training sessions for staff.
Qualifications:

Essential Certifications: Candidates must possess one of the following certifications:

  • Certified Board Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician (CBSPD)
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Education & Experience: A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
