Work Schedule: Day Shift
Position Summary:
The CNC Machining Specialist will be responsible for programming and supporting production processes utilizing machining centers. This role involves collaborating closely with the Design Engineering Manager to schedule and program machining operations for new tooling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain programs for production operations on machining centers.
- Oversee the progress of new tooling fabrication and report on advancements.
- Engage in Design Reviews to comprehend essential design features and tool applications.
- Create documentation for new project parts, including cover sheets and tool lists.
- Monitor and record run times on Bills of Materials (BOM) for new initiatives.
- Coordinate scheduling for Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) based on resource availability and project priorities.
- Assess tool life and performance, optimizing cutter usage and recommending replacements as necessary.
- Facilitate effective communication and support for CNC Machinists, promoting a cooperative work atmosphere.
- Write and modify programs for production parts, ensuring ease of use for operators.
- Select suitable cutting tools for various applications to maximize production efficiency.
- Provide ongoing support for existing programs, including updates and cycle time reduction strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education/Experience: A combination of education and experience that equips the candidate with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective performance.
- Preferred qualifications include a professional degree or training in CNC Programming and/or 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with machining principles and practices.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM programming.
- Experience with VMC programming.
- Ability to effectively manage time and resources to meet project deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills for independent problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of individuals.
- Ability to maintain productive business relationships with various departments and clients.
