Buried Drop Technicians

We are seeking a skilled Buried Drop Technician to join our team in installing fiber cables from the network hub to customers' residences. As a key member of our installation crew, you will be responsible for performing physical installations, utilizing technical expertise, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

• Install buried copper, fiber, and coaxial cable to connect Windstream's network to customers' residences
• Utilize technical skills to create meaningful connections with customers
• Interpret work drawings and instructions, complete necessary paperwork, and sell Windstream products and services
• Train new employees on daily job functions and operate hand-held computers for retrieving and clearing job tasks
• Operate machinery, including trenching and boring equipment for burying cable

• Able to walk 1⁄2 mile + while operating a drop plow that places service cable
• Ability to work varying schedules, including overtime, callouts, and standby as needed
• Basic technology and math skills, ability to distinguish colors present in color-coded cable, and lift/carry up to 70 pounds
• Ability to successfully complete required training, including overnight travel out-of-state
• A valid driver's license and safe driving record, as well as ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical
