This position involves providing education, mentorship, and validation of essential systems and processes, along with ongoing evaluation of clinical performance outcomes to identify priority needs and opportunities for improvement. You will also recommend efficient resource utilization to help each facility maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and achieve quality benchmarks.

  • Ensure that the RAI (Resident Assessment Instrument) process is interdisciplinary and comprehensive, tailored to meet the individual needs of residents.
  • Oversee that each facility's Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program adheres to regulatory requirements and company standards, including meeting agendas, data quality, trend analysis, action planning, and follow-up.
  • Review clinical denials for admissions to evaluate appropriateness and identify training or program development needs for clinical competencies.
  • Collaborate with the area vice president of operations to address any resident-specific or clinical services equipment and supply needs, keeping the division director of clinical services informed of progress.
  • Ensure that each facility has up-to-date resources for all regulatory requirements, providing ongoing education on current and new regulations, interpretive guidelines, and the survey process for all personnel. Partner with education directors to design and deliver regulatory training for regional and center teams.
  • Develop a proactive education and support plan based on comprehensive quarterly clinical systems reviews and outcomes to ensure effective resident care processes.
  • Assume a leadership role in mentoring and educating nursing directors to ensure their competency in responsibilities, professional growth, and retention.
  • Provide clinical expertise and support the implementation of workplace safety policies and procedures, including infection prevention and control measures.
  • Participate in quality assurance performance improvement initiatives by collecting and organizing clinical data for each facility, summarizing operational trends and strategies for enhancement.
  • Engage in facility and agency surveys (Licensure / JCAHO) and any required follow-up reports.
  • Uphold residents' rights to fair treatment, self-determination, privacy, and property, including the right to voice complaints.
  • Adhere to the corporate compliance program and report any job-related functions that involve occupational hazards.
  • Follow established safety regulations and procedures while performing tasks and working with equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Communication

  • Communicate any identified environmental hazards affecting resident care or staff safety to the area vice president of operations and other relevant parties.
  • Represent clinical operations at professional organizations and consult with industry experts to stay informed on best practices and trends in resident care.
  • Utilize the AHT occurrence module to review resident and visitor events and promptly communicate significant incidents to the division vice president of clinical services.
  • Act as a company leader and change agent by providing feedback on policies and procedures, ensuring implementation across all facilities.
  • Maintain appropriate communication channels and endorse the concept of transparency within the company and regional teams.
  • Exercise professional judgment in evaluating quality issues and escalate unresolved matters to senior leadership as necessary.
