This role involves organizing supplies, preparing meals, and collaborating with volunteers to deliver essential food services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the community kitchen, including supply organization, meal preparation, and food service.
  • Collaborate with community volunteers to execute the meal program effectively.
  • Support the Lead Worker in maintaining service delivery records, including volunteer attendance and patron counts, ensuring effective communication with supervisors.
  • Assist in kitchen operations while adhering to local health department food safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, dining area, and restrooms through regular housekeeping duties.
  • Facilitate donation pickups and accept deliveries as needed.
  • Work closely with supervisors and support staff to enhance the awareness and success of the community kitchen program.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a Food Service License from the local health department and a food handling certification.
  • Availability to work evening hours to support food service operations.
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks that may change frequently.
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including prolonged standing, stair climbing, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • A background check is required.
