Job Summary

EnerSys Delaware, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a critical player in our maintenance team, you will provide support to achieve set production targets, machine and equipment availability, and efficient operations, while ensuring customer expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow standard operating procedures to ensure personal safety and the safety of coworkers, as well as the quality of products produced.
  • Understand and safely operate equipment and machinery, performing scheduled preventative maintenance activities to maintain safe and efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair equipment as required, controlling machine downtime by liaising with production personnel.
  • Adhere to all ISO environmental and safety procedures, maintaining a safe work area through set cleaning and housekeeping procedures.
  • Be compliant with all safety, environment, and health processes and procedures, including lock out/tag out (LOTO), wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), and submitting to periodic personal testing and monitoring.
Requirements
  • Advanced education, such as a 2-year technical degree or certification, is preferred.
  • Technical education or on-the-job training in electronic/electronic or mechanical technology, with proficiency in Allen Bradley, programmable logic control (PLC), and factory talk panel view software, and Fanuc robot controllers and servos.
  • At least three years of experience as a mechanic, with the ability to perform standard maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced heavy materials, system-controlled machine, and process-driven work environment.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculating percentages.
  • Ability to read and write for understanding and interpret instructions and manuals, drawings, and schematics, and standard operating procedures.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a forklift operator license.
  • Ability to be qualified for safe and compliant use and maintenance of assigned and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Working Conditions
  • Employees are responsible for wearing required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials, such as lead/fiberglass products, and periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment, with varying working conditions.
  • Must be able to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
