Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tool Maker Apprentice to join our team at voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation. As a Tool Maker Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of machine tools and equipment, as well as learning the skills necessary to become a proficient Tool Maker.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of machine tools and equipment
  • Learn and apply skills necessary to become a proficient Tool Maker
  • Work under close supervision to perform a variety of duties, including:
    • Laying out metal stock
    • Setting up and operating machine tools
    • Fitting and assembling parts to make or repair jigs and fixtures, gauges, tools, and dies

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must complete training (classroom and hands-on) for national apprenticeship program certification
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience with machine setup, operations, and troubleshooting; using hand tools
  • US Person (due to EAR/ITAR requirements)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or vocational training in tool and die, machining, or similar program

What We Offer:

  • Competitive earning potential, starting at $22 and going up to $27.25 based on instructional and hands-on hours as part of certification
  • Additional earning opportunity available once apprenticeship is completed and promoted to Tool Maker A

Work Schedule:

We are seeking a 2nd shift candidate, working 3:30PM – 2AM Monday to Thursday, with overtime as needed. Training may occur on other shifts.
