Our paraprofessionals play a crucial role in providing tailored support to ensure that students achieve growth and mastery in line with grade-level expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized academic and behavioral support to students or small groups.
- Assist in implementing specific strategies outlined in students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with educators to ensure that necessary accommodations and modifications are effectively integrated within the inclusive classroom environment.
- Support teachers in the daily management of classroom activities.
- Encourage the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of each child.
- Participate in a comprehensive training program during the summer and engage in ongoing professional development throughout the academic year.
- Provide coverage and support as required by supervisory staff.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Compensation:
We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage. Opportunities for additional stipends are available for participation in after-school programs and during school breaks.
Qualifications:
- A strong commitment to the mission and values of CDCPS.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience working with school-aged children is preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in collaborative planning and problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor are essential.
- Knowledge of and experience with developmentally appropriate teaching strategies.
