Responsibilities in this role:
  • Maintain proficiency in various oxygen delivery methods and associated equipment, while monitoring for potential side effects
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments, understanding their purpose and possible side effects
  • Set up and oversee mechanical ventilators, performing critical care tasks such as airway management and tracheal suctioning
  • Assess patient discomfort that may hinder optimal functioning or participation in rehabilitation, and communicate with physicians as necessary
  • Conduct arterial punctures for blood gas analysis, being aware of potential complications and contraindications
  • Perform EKGs, interpret reports, and ensure proper documentation and filing according to departmental protocols
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Valid State Respiratory Therapist License
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
  • Current CPR certification (BLS or ACLS specified)
  • A minimum of three years of comprehensive experience in cardiopulmonary services is highly preferred
Compensation is set at $50.00 per hour. While this is the expected pay range for this position, certain circumstances may allow for flexibility in compensation.
