Chief Radiation Therapist

About the Role:
Texas Oncology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Radiation Therapist to lead our radiation oncology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating the technical staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality radiation therapy treatment courses for each patient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all technical staff, including evaluating performance to enhance high-quality radiation therapy.
- Participate in QA program to assure accuracy of treatment plan and delivery.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, and rewarding and disciplining employees.
- Directly supervise employees in the radiation oncology program, including mold technicians, simulation therapists, and radiation therapists.
- Implement standard radiation oncology and diagnostic policies and procedures throughout the practice.
- Develop performance expectations and departmental objectives for radiation staff positions to ensure efficiency and productivity.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum five years actively practicing as an RTT.
- Minimum two years prior supervisory experience required.
- ARRT certification required.
- Valid state license for radiation therapy.
Work Environment:
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent contact with staff and patients. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
