Job Overview


Accountable for the secure and effective operation and upkeep of the incineration system along with waste management and recycling apparatus, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the incineration system in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to regulatory permits.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on the incineration system, including the incinerator, scrubber, ash handling system, and utility systems. Proactively troubleshoot and implement necessary corrective measures. Maintain and repair equipment utilized in the waste management and recycling program.
  • Oversee the operation of the system via computer logic system gauges and control panels.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct sampling of ash and emissions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain daily logs and records of equipment operations in line with permit requirements set by federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Supervise daily tasks of incinerator technicians to ensure proper waste processing and documentation.
  • Report operational issues to the supervisor and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Review waste logs recorded by incinerator technicians for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Clean and sanitize waste carts and maintain the facility and surrounding grounds.
  • Organize waste disposal activities with non-CAMC contractors.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance to optimize the use of the boiler system.
  • Manage parts inventory for incinerator operations, including scrubber reagents.
  • Prepare precise written reports as required.
  • Handle all chemicals in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Operate a 10-wheel truck with standard transmission and hydraulic lifts for solid waste transportation; a CDL is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
