Job Summary:

The Newgrange School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Behavioral Therapist to join our team. As a Behavioral Therapist, you will play a critical role in supporting students with autism or emotional/behavioral disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors and develop effective interventions.
  • Develop and Implement Behavior Intervention Plans: Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create and implement behavior intervention plans that promote positive behavior change.
  • Provide Behavioral Interventions: Work one-on-one with students to provide behavioral interventions, including positive reinforcement, redirection, and crisis intervention.
  • Consult with Teachers and Staff: Provide consultation and support to teachers and staff members to help them implement behavioral interventions and strategies in the classroom.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Progress: Regularly monitor and evaluate student progress, making adjustments to behavior intervention plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with Parents and Guardians: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and involve them in the behavior intervention process.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field: A master's degree in special education, psychology, or a related field is required.
  • Experience Working with Students with Autism or Emotional/Behavioral Disorders: A minimum of three years of experience working with students with autism or emotional/behavioral disorders is required.
  • Behavioral Therapist Certification: Certification as a behavioral therapist is preferred.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities is essential.
