Controller (Accounting, Office, HR and IT)

We are seeking an experienced Controller to manage the financial activities of our company in Somersworth, NH. This role will work closely with the President/Owner and other department heads to drive the performance of the operations by applying technical and business insights and guidance.
Key Responsibilities- Direct all accounting operations and manage teams including Billing, A/R, A/P, Accounting, Payroll, etc.
- Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process - including bank reconciliations
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies & procedures.
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
- Maximizes return, and limits risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances; making investments.
- Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings (sales tax, income tax, 1099s)
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Responsible for liability insurance including renewal process & providing COI to customers
- Maintains financial staff job results by hiring, coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members.
- Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, and collection agencies
- Oversees Customer Service Office. The Office Manager is a direct report and in their absence, the Controller manages customer service reps (CSRs)
- Oversee Human Resources. The HR Manager is a direct report.
- Oversee IT/Systems. The Controller is responsible for managing the outside vendor who handles IT.
- BS or Masters in Accounting
- CPA is a huge plus
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Experience with/understanding of GAAP
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the fields of accounting and finance with a minimum of 2 years serving as a Controller in a multi divisional manufacturing environment.
