Substance Misuse Prevention Specialist

Greater Seacoast Community Health is seeking a highly motivated Substance Misuse Prevention Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our SCPHN team, you will play a vital role in addressing substance misuse and promoting health equity in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a regional network of experts to support substance misuse prevention, collaborating on health promotion activities, programs, and strategies.
- Implement data-driven and evidence-based prevention programs, ensuring cultural appropriateness and measurable outcomes.
- Create and maintain key partnerships within the community, acting as a leader and facilitator across multiple platforms to unify prevention efforts.
- Lead community education, facilitate trainings and workshops, and provide technical assistance to strengthen prevention activities.
- Develop creative prevention messaging through social media and other communication channels, using tools like Canva to design engaging materials that resonate with a broad audience.
- Support strategic planning, providing critical data, insights, and support to continuously improve program initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, or a related field (preferred), or 3-5 years of experience in public health, community health education, or community organization.
- Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) certification preferred, or willingness to pursue certification within the first year of hire.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and community mobilization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with precision, while building relationships with stakeholders and driving community health improvements.
- A passion for substance misuse prevention and the ability to think creatively about integrated health strategies.
Work Environment:
You'll be working in a dynamic and collaborative environment that involves multitasking, public speaking, and working both in an office and within the community. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and community events.
