Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Burn Unit team at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. As a Burn Wound Care Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily procedural sedation and provide Phase I and II recovery in the burn procedure room.
  • Provide burn wound care education to new team members and ongoing wound care orientation for all staff.
  • Deliver and accurately document direct, age-specific care to patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state.
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
  • 12 to 24 months RN experience for Clinical Nurse II role.
  • 3 years of clinical experience for Clinical Nurse III role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Academic Health Care Experience.
  • Experience with similar patient population in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice.
Work Environment

This is a Monday through Friday, 0700 to 1500 position. The Burn Unit is a 16-bed unit providing all levels of care for adults with burn injuries and general level of care for pediatric patients.
