Job Title: Manager, Environmental, Health, & Safety

As a key member of our global HR and Safety function, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our company's environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a comprehensive 3-year roadmap of safety programs and processes to advance Graco towards an injury-free environment.
  • Establish a global safety program framework with key processes and an annual cadence of deployment across all sites.
  • Implement and maintain EHS policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop safety training programs and materials for all levels of staff.
Incident Investigation:
  • Develop and deploy a consistent process of post-incident analysis and proactive sharing of lessons learned across all sites.
  • Strengthen a culture of near-miss reporting and develop metrics that are more leading in nature.
  • Support investigations into workplace incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions owned by the site operations teams.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all incidents, safety data, and corrective measures, providing valuable insights for future risk mitigation.
Risk Assessment:
  • Guide and support teams in performing risk assessments, safety assessments, and hazard analyses to identify potential risks and develop robust mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor workplace safety and ergonomics to promote employee well-being.
  • Utilize risk assessment findings to drive data-driven decisions and prioritize safety initiatives.
Compliance and Audits:
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with all EHS regulations.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports for management and regulatory agencies regarding EHS performance, trends, compliance status, and areas for improvement.
Training and Communication:
  • Leverage and support site safety committees to create highly functioning teams with consistent safety priorities across sites, driving alignment on safety goals.
  • Facilitate safety orientations, as well as ongoing training sessions for employees.
  • Communicate EHS policies, procedures, and updates effectively across the organization.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, facilities, and human resources to promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and consultants as needed for compliance and training.
Emergency Preparedness:
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review comprehensive emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring readiness for various emergency situations.
  • Conduct drills and training exercises to ensure employee preparedness for emergencies.
  • Continually assess the effectiveness of emergency plans and update them as needed to reflect evolving risks and lessons learned from drills.
Team Leadership and Financial Management:
  • Lead, mentor, manage, and staff a team of safety and EHS specialists, and an indirect team of operations team members who have safety as part of their accountability, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Drive team performance by setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and facilitating professional growth opportunities.
  • Establish, manage, and be accountable for the annual team budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with organizational strategic objectives.
