Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Job Description

Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career in industrial maintenance? We have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Ken's Foods.

As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for investigating and correcting problems with facility components and systems. You will work with automated packaging machinery and have the opportunity to start a career in a lively work environment.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing machinery safely using extensive knowledge of pump theory, pneumatic and hydraulic principles, low and high voltage circuits, electric motors, motor control, and device control, electrical control, power circuits, and more
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrically controlled equipment, including PLC controlled and solid-state equipment
  • Welding (gas and arc) and soldering
  • Performing basic plumbing and carpentry tasks
  • Ordering parts and materials from manufacturers
  • Adhering to corporate standards and systems to ensure food safety, quality, and facility cleanliness
  • Writing routine reports and sharing information with coworkers

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma/GED or at least 5 years of related experience or training
  • Possess or obtain within 6 months a Special to Operate Engineering License (Steam Plant)
  • A good understanding of electrical schematics
  • An understanding of typical facility and manufacturing support systems such as steam, hot water, compressed air, and refrigeration
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances
  • The ability to move more than 100 lbs. on occasion
  • The ability to occasionally climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear
