Compensation:

Position Overview: The Facility Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of both the assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. This role ensures adherence to all regulatory standards and acts as the primary contact for regulatory bodies. The Manager develops and implements administrative policies and procedures to support compliance and industry best practices. A key objective is to meet or exceed regulatory standards while ensuring resident satisfaction with the services provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including survey preparation, audits, and corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with the Management Team to establish program goals aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Direct response efforts during regulatory surveys and maintain a positive representation of The Redwoods.
  • Address resident and family concerns, referring them to appropriate team members as needed.
  • Analyze organizational and customer expectations to enhance services and processes continually.
  • Oversee daily operations, maintaining necessary records and data.
  • Provide technical assistance with hardware and software as required.
  • Prepare and present reports for various committees, including the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and take appropriate actions.
  • Lead special projects on behalf of the CEO and support change management initiatives.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are current and develop new ones as necessary.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in the facility's electronic medical record system and compile reports as needed.
  • Consult with the CEO on long-term operational plans and community improvements.
  • Respond to community ombudsman and other officials to address concerns.
  • Manage financial performance, including revenue and expenses, and prepare departmental budgets for review.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid nursing home administrator license in California or be able to obtain one within six months of employment.
  • Must be licensed or certified as an RCFE administrator in California or be able to obtain certification within three months of employment.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of relevant experience in skilled nursing or assisted living is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and policies governing skilled nursing and residential care facilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in computer systems and able to troubleshoot basic issues.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong administrative skills for effective planning and delegation.
  • Supervisory skills to recruit, train, and motivate staff.
  • Understanding of aging-related issues and sensitivity to resident needs.
  • Ability to communicate confidential information with professionalism.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and capable of learning new software.
  • Ability to work independently and produce various written communications.
  • Understanding of all organizational departments and their functions.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and represent the organization positively.

Physical Requirements: The role requires the ability to handle work materials, use standard office equipment, and engage in intermittent walking, standing, and lifting of materials up to 35 lbs. Computer use and typing are essential components of the position. Work is primarily conducted in an office setting with minimal health and safety risks, although interaction with residents and the public is a significant aspect of the role. Adherence to infection control practices is mandatory.
