Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at UNC Rex Healthcare. As a critical care specialist, you will provide direct patient care to adult critical care patients in our MSICU, NSICU, CSICU, and CICU units.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacokinetics and be able to assess patient data to make appropriate pharmaceutical care interventions. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to optimize medication regimens and provide pharmacist support to inpatient nursing units.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing pharmacokinetic management and making recommendations to optimize medication regimens
  • Assessing patient data and making appropriate pharmaceutical care interventions
  • Providing pharmacist support to inpatient nursing units
  • Providing drug information to clinicians
  • Counseling patients and family members regarding pharmaceutical care issues and lifestyle modifications
  • Participating in research and quality improvement initiatives
  • Representing the hospital or department on committees

Requirements

Education: PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree

Licensure/Certification: Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or obtainable before initiation of employment

Experience: No prior experience required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong background in pharmacokinetics, ability to assess patient data, and excellent communication skills
