OBJECTIVE

Are you prepared to embrace the winter months at Spirit Mountain Recreation Area? We are on the lookout for committed and enthusiastic individuals to fill the role of Outdoor Operations Attendants. This position is vital for the safe and efficient functioning of our ski lifts and tubing hill. It demands a sense of responsibility, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently. The Attendant will be tasked with operating lifts, resolving minor issues, assisting in the training of new staff, and ensuring the utmost guest satisfaction—all while enjoying the great outdoors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage with guests during maze control and ticket verification, ensuring a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, which includes snow removal, preparing landings, and ensuring that ropes and signage are properly positioned.
  • Foster a welcoming environment by managing music, controlling lift lines with charm and personality, and assisting guests with boarding and disembarking from the lift, which may involve helping children for stability.
  • Operate ski lifts and manage tubing hill activities, adhering strictly to all safety protocols and operational standards.
  • Monitor for unauthorized lift usage and take appropriate actions against those without valid passes.
  • Act as a primary contact for guest inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and promptly addressing any issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections of lift equipment, identifying and reporting maintenance needs.
  • Guide and assist in training new Attendants, sharing your expertise and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless resort operations.
  • Take charge during emergency situations, offering guidance and assistance as necessary.
  • Exhibit leadership and decision-making abilities in daily operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in lift operations or a similar role, or a strong interest in skiing or snowboarding.
  • Ability to engage guests with humor and enhance their overall experience.
  • Proven capability to work independently and lead by example.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties in various weather conditions, including cold and snowy environments.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced knowledge of ski lift operations.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues.
  • Experience in training or mentoring staff.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and stoop for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in a range of outdoor environments, including cold and snowy conditions.
