Overview:

A prominent client is in search of a skilled Electrical Substation Engineer with expertise in both physical design and protection & control methodologies. This position entails engineering responsibilities for substation systems operating between 34.5kV and 500kV, necessitating a robust understanding of high-voltage substation design concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create comprehensive design documentation and schematics for various projects, including wiring diagrams and material lists.
  • Conduct engineering support activities such as relay burden analysis, lighting assessments, load flow evaluations, and short circuit studies.
  • Employ engineering software tools for ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and load flow assessments.
  • Work closely with project engineers to ensure compliance with schedules and standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • Oversee project operations and manage documentation efficiently.
  • Offer on-site support and training as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in substation engineering design; senior positions require over 7 years.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory for senior roles or the capability to obtain one within a year.
  • Expertise in AC/DC fundamentals, three-phase power systems, and substation components.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
