Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Pastry Chef in preparing and presenting pastry items that meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment, such as grills, deep fat fryers, or griddles, to prepare a variety of pastry items.
  • Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity, ensuring that all products are presented in a visually appealing manner.
  • Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Oversee sanitation of kitchens throughout and at the end of shifts, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Follow directions given by the Pastry Chef and maintain a dependable work attendance record.
  • Perform other special projects and duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; certification of culinary training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge in a wide range of pastry and bakery items required.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a valid Gila River Environmental Health Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, Blood-Borne Pathogens (BBP) and other required compliance trainings.
  • Excellent guest service skills, strong telephone etiquette, and ability to follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
