Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Coburn Technologies, Inc. is seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our team. As an Electro-Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling and repairing electro-mechanical computer-controlled machine products, working at bench or on shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:- Assemble parts, assemblies, and complete machines from blueprints, sketches, diagrams, operation or process sheets, and verbal instruction.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools in the assembly process.
- Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners and perform basic soldering.
- Remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to eliminate burrs and produce better fit between parts.
- Repair parts and components to meet part specifications so that they can be used in machine assemblies.
- Operate components, assemblies, and machines for testing, quality control, and calibration.
- Maintain work cell area neat and organized.
- Participate in events for continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational efficiency.
- May help construct tools, fixtures, and other techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency of work methods.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years of related electro-mechanical assembly or repair experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, blueprints, drawings, process, and calibration sheets.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and to communicate effectively with other assemblers, supervisors, engineering staff, and other personnel in the organization.
- Understanding of English to read and communicate.
- Mathematical and pneumatic skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Reasoning Ability, to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to troubleshoot, understand, and solve machine assembly problems.
- Must be able to perform work that may be repetitive in nature and work that requires manual dexterity.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Requires knowledge and use of Volt/Ohm meter and learn to use other instruments required in the day-to-day functions of the job.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time (2 to 3 hours), walk, sit, and talk or hear.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move parts and assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds.
This role operates equipment in a manufacturing setting. This role routinely uses tools and electrical components.
This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, 40 hours per week. There is a thirty-minute unpaid lunch break.
