Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Dart Container is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, training, and providing oversight of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs at our Leola, PA plant.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement EHS programs and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on EHS procedures and protocols.
- Investigate and report on incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure EHS considerations are integrated into business decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in EHS, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in paper converting, chemical/plastics processing, and packaging.
