Job Summary

Volt is seeking a Senior Virtualization Engineer to support all aspects of VMware virtualization, including configuration, implementation, and management of servers in a virtualized environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Windows and network management skills, as well as excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support server infrastructure in a 24x7 on-call escalation capacity as part of a team rotation.
  • Install and configure vCenter Server, Esxi cluster servers, and VMware Horizon.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain virtual switching, HA, vMotion, and DRS.
  • Monitor the health of VMs operating in various data centers and manage replications and VM movements between data centers.
  • Manage disaster recovery of the virtualized environment using SRM and support VMware management tools.
  • Provide support to system administrators in resolving VDI issues and issues with virtual servers.
  • Maintain and update environmental documentation, standard Operating Procedures, and engineering documentation.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Ability to install and configure vCenter Server.
  • Experience working with Esxi cluster servers and monitoring the health of VMs.
  • Knowledge of VMware Horizon View, VMware vCenter, vSphere Client, and Web Client.
  • Experience managing VMware Horizon user profiles and multi-vendor server operating systems.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL and scripting languages such as PowerShell and VBScript.
Preferred Skills
  • VMware certification VCP/VCAP and/or VDI Certification.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with VMware virtual environment and Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Experience with Hyperconverged Infrastructures (HCI) and additional Hypervisor and VDI technologies.
  • Experience with cloud environments including AWS and/or Azure Certifications.
