Position Summary
Madison Collective, a renowned bakery, is seeking a dedicated and skilled baking professional to become part of our team of artisan bakers. As a Head Baker, you will be responsible for the creation of authentic Danish breads and pastries, working alongside an enthusiastic and diverse group of culinary experts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the production of artisan Danish breads, rolls, and laminated dough.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality standards in all baked goods.
- Implement long fermentation processes to enhance flavor and texture.
Qualifications
- Positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
- A genuine passion and extensive knowledge of bread-making.
- Dependable and committed work ethic.
- 2-4 years of professional baking experience is preferred, with a focus on Danish or Scandinavian techniques being a significant advantage.
- Proficient in mixing, bench work, proofing, and baking, particularly with laminated doughs for breakfast pastries.
- Willingness to work overnight shifts, weekends, and some holidays.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs without restrictions.
- Capacity to stand and/or bend for extended periods to fulfill essential job functions.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Strong sense of urgency and excellent time management abilities.
- Adherence to health and safety standards, as well as food safety regulations.
