Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with operational and distribution responsibilities related to Pharmacy Technician functions, including software and hardware systems.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of safety, emergency, and risk management procedures.
  • Identify and utilize resources and departments for customer service and patient care.
  • Operate equipment required for pharmacy procedures, consistent with operating instructions, safety regulations, and policy and procedures.
  • Perform basic Pharmacy Technician procedures required by the assigned area, consistent with scientific principles, policy, and procedures.
  • Accurately assist the Pharmacist in all duties pertaining to medication distribution, including proper aseptic techniques for admixture of various types of medication.
  • Maintain USP 797 standards and other regulatory required documentation.
  • Responsible for maintaining controlled substance vault and perpetual inventory and other documentation files.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Maintains current Pharmacy Technician registration with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Current Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (CPht) received through a nationally recognized program.
  • Greater than four (4) years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
